Mama's Place

We recently moved to Calabash and decided to try Mama's Place and we are SO glad we did! The food is absolutely delicious and comes out fresh and hot every single time. You can truly taste the homemade quality in every bite. From the moment you walk in, you feel like you're sitting down for a home cooked meal with family. The staff is some of the best we have ever experienced in the restaurant industry friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The cooks are amazing, and the owner is one of the most caring and giving people I've ever met. She truly cares about her customers and it shows in everything they do. If you're in the Calabash area, Mama's Place is a must try. We will definitely be back again and again! They also offer daily specials, and they are always amazing. Just a couple of our absolute favorites are her taco salad and the barbecue pork chops both are packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. And don't even get me started on the desserts... they are homemade and absolutely incredible!

Excellent home cooking!! Absolutely enjoyed my meal of Chicken Fried Steak mashed potatoes and greens! Sweet tea is delicious!! Lets not forget dessert, Banana Split cake!! yuuuummmm!! Family atmosphere. Love small businesses make this part of your plans. Thanks Mama!!

When you go to Mama's, you truly feel like you're at home from the time you enter the door until you get back to your car. They have a daily special which was amazing and I love how they double check the order...everything was perfect and nothing was messed up, which is a rarity these days. Mama makes some of the best home-cooked meals you will find and the green beans tasted amazing! Everyone really enjoyed the food and the prices were very fair. The restroom was very clean and all the staff were very friendly, just like one of the family. So glad we stopped here for lunch- we were thirsty and hungry. The sweet tea was great! Located on the main strip of road in Calabash and definitely worth the visit. Do yourself a favor if you are in the area and stop at Mama's for a good meal.

I've been working in Little River at the ProSafe down the road every Sunday for the past month, and on my lunch break I've noticed this place pop up. Today being my last day out here for now, I decided to try it out. My only regret was not trying the place the first time I came out here! I ordered the monte cristo and it was incredible, it even came with little glass jars of raspberry preserves. The food was ready as soon as I got there, the staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the inside of the place looked great, clean as a whistle as well. Anyone that comes to eat here and has a problem with anything must truly be unaware of what good food is. I'll be coming thru mamas place anytime I find myself in the Ocean Isle to Myrtle Beach stretch. Also, IT WAS ONLY 12 BUCKS. I thought I misheard the woman when she gave me my total, it's unheard of to find food at this quality for such a fair price (underpriced if anything!). Seriously, stop in and give this place a try as soon as you can, you will not regret it.

We absolutely loved our visit to Mama's Place in Calabash, NC! The staff was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. They were knowledgeable about the menu and gave great recommendations! We were especially impressed by their selection of sandwiches - perfect for a hot summer day. The options are light but satisfying, and none of them left us feeling sluggish afterward. We tried the club and chicken salad sandwiches, and they were the perfect balance of fresh, tasty, and refreshing. The flavors really pop without being too heavy, which is exactly what you want when the sun's out! The vibe here is so laid-back and welcoming, making it a great spot to relax with friends or enjoy a solo meal. We highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area; you won't be disappointed!

This was our first time here, came for breakfast,what a gem! It's small and gets busy but don't let that deter you, just be patient with your servers. They work hard. The food is made fresh with good ingredients. Sat at the bar enjoyed watching the cooks they were on top of things very professional. A bonus was I think it was the owner came with trays of fresh cookies and chocolate eclairs to sample they were absolutely delicious. We will definitely return! Thank you for an awesome breakfast
